One of the potential agreed-upon strategies may include ownership's decision to sell 100% of the company to a strategic or financial buyer. Selling a business is a life-changing, typically once-in-a-lifetime decision, which should not be taken lightly as generational wealth and financial independence are at stake. Being prepared to sell a business means thinking well in advance prior to undertaking a sale transaction as the transaction process is lengthy, nuanced and detailed, very time-consuming especially when an owner is trying to run a business at the same time, and extremely difficult to navigate alone as buyers are typically seasoned, sophisticated and well-versed in the deal process.

Prior to sharing the marketing presentation and databook with potential buyers, GoodBridge Advisory will perform a detailed review and analysis of the client's business operations and historical financial statements to "adjust" or "recast" its financials in an Excel databook in order to present its true financial position and potential buyer synergies to highlight the focal points and maximize enterprise value. Ultimately, we know what buyers are seeking when conducting a preliminary valuation of a company, what a competitive proposal should present and state explicitly, how to efficiently facilitate buyer's due diligence process, negotiate "market" legal positions in the binding legal agreements, and close the deal.
The same holds true for GoodBridge as a buy-side advisor as we advise on what information to seek out from a target company, how to properly value a target company, structure a transaction using market knowledge and experience, conduct due diligence, and close a transaction.
